Aligned to today’s evolving styles and customer preferences, recent carpet trends intend to capture the balance of style, function, and sustainability. Style is a main aspect because it allows clients to align decor according to their preferences. Functionality is also a significant consideration because carpets must also serve their purpose in keeping the area slip and accident free. Sustainability enters the criteria because customers nowadays are becoming conservative in materials used in their purchases.

Today’s feature is a successful attempt to balance decor, comfort, and eco-friendliness of a common home item, a carpet. We will be venturing on our beige carpeting for bedroom and living room as a design inspiration as illustrated by our Makati client. 

Carpets are most known as floor or stairs covering. Its main function is to ensure that high-traffic areas are slip or injury free because of its anti-slip capacities and durable materials. Carpets are typically made up of natural fibers such as wool, jute or sisal. These fibers are then woven together and most times, the type of weaving impacts the quality and longevity of the carpet. As mentioned, sustainability is also a consideration in purchasing carpets. Customers are now leaning to carpets made up of recycled materials and those with low volatile organic compound emissions for better air quality. Carpets could also make a statement with their textures and patterns which could be loud or subtle, depending on the requirements of an interior. 

Our beige carpet is installed in our Makati client’s bedroom and living room. Being one of the busiest cities in the country, it is quite understandable why our client took their time in designing their home. Because their everyday lives could be as busy as it could be, their resting place should be neat and comfortable to stay in.

Diving to our installation, the beige carpet is installed in the living room as part of the nude, black, and off-white shades of furniture and appliances. It is properly placed in the middle of the area below the black centerpiece where it looks like a natural part of the setup. The carpet helped make the room look more breathable to stay in and larger than its actual size. The beige carpet is also installed for the bedroom. It matched the black and wood-colored furniture and bed frames, making the bedroom look classy, clean, and expensive. 

To sum it up, the beige carpet definitely brought out the balance in style and function. The main inspiration with this product is its simplicity where, as seen through our Makati client, we could still bring out the elegance and timeless beauty of a room. And even if a client intended to go bolder with their interior design preferences, these carpets would still be useful in balancing out the loud decor or be the more daring display itself.
